German Awards - Weimar Republic

Weimar Republic - the period between 1919 and 1933, designated by the first place of the National Assembly. This gave the German Empire a parliamentary democratic constitution. An important innovation was the introduction of suffrage for women. On August 11, 1919, the constitution was signed by Reich President Friedrich Ebert; and three days later it went into effect.
The Reich President was directly elected by the people for seven years and had extensive rights. The Reichstag as the supreme imperial power was elected for four years and had more influence than in the empire. Based on Article 25, the Reich President had the opportunity to dissolve it. The government consisted of the Reich Chancellor and individual ministers. The Reich Presidents were Friedrich Ebert and Paul von Hindenburg.
The Weimar Constitution remained in force until Adolf Hitler came to power on January 30, 1933. By the law of March 24, 1933, it was abolished.
