German Awards - Badge of Honor 1. The form of front-line fighters of the World War 1914-1918.
This large sign or badge of honor is the 1st form with a large imperial eagle with a collan and a chest shield with a Prussian eagle on the front side. This leads to the assumption that this badge was awarded shortly after the end of World War I and that a close connection with the empire was still desirable or that the monarchy was preserved. The 2nd form depicts in the center a simple eagle with a steel helmet on his chest and crossed swords under it. But above the eagle, a free-floating imperial crown with fluttering ribbons is still visible. The second form will appear later. Probably after the formation of the Weimar Republic.
The participant badge was issued by the World War Front Fighters 1914-1918 Association. The club was founded in Bremen before the 1919 and is one of many soldiers' clubs created during and after the 1st World War. In general, the clubs took care of the honorary memory of fighters in the world war, the support of returning members or widows and orphans of former members. Often a relief fund was set up for burial and care of graves and monuments. I don't know anything about the club. The club also awarded a large badge of honor in the form of an oval badge and an enameled membership needle.
Badges and badges of honor are extremely rare.
