Empire

The German Empire existed from January 18, 1871 to November 9, 1918.
The German emperors were:
William I (1871-1888),
Frederick III (1888)
and William II. (1888-1918)

The German Empire, as the state is known, was a constitutional monarchy.
Under the leadership of Prussia, a single German nation-state first emerged.
The empire included 25 states, including the 3 Hanseatic cities of Hamburg, Bremen and Lübeck, as well as the Alsace-Lorraine region.
One of the most prominent figures in the empire was Otto von Bismarck, the first chancellor to have a significant impact on the development of the German Empire until 1890. After the resignation of Bismarck, they talk about the era of Wilhelm, because 1888 appointed Emperor Wilhelm II. increasingly interfered in the politics and development of the state. At the end of a fateful development marked by the desire of European great powers for power around the world and the policy of the union, there was the first world war. At the end of the war and the defeat of Germany and its allies, the end of the empire was a foregone conclusion. Reich Chancellor Max Badensky on November 9, 1918 arbitrarily proclaimed the abdication of the emperor. The emperor fled to Holland, and Philip Scheidemann proclaimed the German Republic in Berlin.
The remaining German princes and kings also abdicated.
