The general badge of honor in bronze was awarded on January 27, 1912 by the Kaiser and King William II. donated. To expand the possibilities of awarding even for lesser merits, the General Badge of Honor in bronze was added as the lower step. This award was presented for services that, however, were not yet recognized as sufficient to be awarded the General Badge of Honor in silver. The Badge of Honor could also be awarded on the ribbon of the Medal of Salvation. Employees were awarded as a priority after many years of service in both public and private enterprises.
The fund was already planned for 1911. The main Berlin coin minted probably several copies, but they were melted down. In 1918, 5,000 medals were made in Feinzink (military metal). How many of them were issued is unknown. Small zinc medals rarely appear on the market.
