The Prussian Royal Cross of Merit was established on 27 January 1912 by King William II. donated. He was awarded gold and silver. This award was given to individuals at home and abroad for general services. Both military and civilians could receive this cross. For particularly outstanding services, this award was also awarded the crown. It can be awarded simultaneously with the cross or later. For this, the cross in the upper cross was changed with the angle of attachment of the crown. The crowns were made in the metal of the cross, that is, silver or gold. The band ring then passes through the top of the crown. When awarded a golden cross for merit, a silver cross for merit was to be handed over. This did not apply to the silver cross for merit with a crown. After death or reaching a higher level, the cross had to be returned.
Silver gilded or made of bronze gilded cross with eight peaks, smooth polished edges, thinly pierced inside. Front and back with a round central shield worn. Between the tops of the upper cruciform arm there is an embossed semicircular segment with a small ring through which the ribbon ring passes.
