The Cross "For Merit" in silver with the anniversary number 50 was awarded for merit to anniversaries who conscientiously and without reproaches served 50 years. Often this award was given for retirement. Anniversary numbers were also awarded to the Order of the Red Eagle, the Royal Order of the Crown or the General Badge of Honor and were also a special attribute for awarded anniversaries.
The Prussian Royal Cross of Merit was established on 27 January 1912 by the Emperor and King William II. donated. He was awarded gold and silver in 2 classes. This award was given to individuals at home and abroad for general services. Both military and civilians could receive this cross. For special merits, crosses were also awarded the crown. Each of them is made in gold or silver. When moving to a higher step or at the death of the carrier, the cross for merit in silver was subject to return. However, the cross of merit in silver with a crown was allowed to be worn further. The crowns were five-inch, pierced and rigidly connected to the upper cruciform shoulder.
Silver cross with eight peaks. The wishbones have smooth, polished edges. The insides are finely indented. Front and back with a round central shield worn. Between the tips of the upper cruciform shoulder is a rounded segment with a pinned ear and a ribbon ring. Soldered on the ring of the ribbon is a silver, round, hollow embossed anniversary sign with an increased number of 50.
