Awards Germany - German States - Prussia - Kingdom

The Kingdom of Prussia existed from 1701 to 1918. In 1701, Frederick I was crowned king in Königsberg (originally) in Prussia, which was not part of the Holy Roman Empire. Over time, the kingdom of Prussia became the largest power in Germany. Under William I, it reached its climax, until in 1871 the German Empire was created under Prussian rule and William I was crowned the first German emperor at Versailles.
The kings were:
  • Frederick I.
  • Friedrich Wilhelm I.
  • Frederick II. (The Great)
  • Friedrich Wilhelm II
  • Friedrich Wilhelm III.
  • Frederick William IV.
  • William I (emperor and king)
  • Frederick III. (Emperor and King)
  • William II (Emperor and King)

After World War I and the November Revolution of 1918, William II was forced to abdicate and fled into exile in Holland (Dorn). This marked the end of the Kingdom. Prussia continued to exist until 1945 as a federal state in the Weimar Republic or as an administrative unit in the Third Reich, until it was declared disbanded by the Allies after World War II.
