Commemorative coins of the former royal Hanoverian troops were minted on December 19, 1903 by the king and emperor William II. donated. The reason for this was the 100th anniversary of the regiments. A total of 9 medals were awarded. On the same front side of the medal are different views from behind with the corresponding anniversary dates of military units. Medals at the regiment's anniversary celebration were awarded only to present soldiers or undeservedly absent soldiers. A commemorative commemorative coin with the date - November 30, 1813 - August 16, 1913 - was granted to the soldiers of the Vogts Retz infantry regiment, 3rd Hanover No. 79.
The regiment's roots are the former Hanover Life Regiment. In 1866, under the Prussian command, the regiment received the name 3rd Hanover No. 79. After the death of the first commander since 1889, he bore the name of the Vogts Retz infantry regiment in his honor. The locations were Hildesheim and for the battalions of fusiliers Hameln, Hanover and Einbeck. The regiment was assigned to the XX. Infantry Division as part of the Xth Army Corps. During the war of 1870-71, the infantry regiment fought at Vionville, Gravelot, Metz, Bon-la-Rolande and Le Mans. During World War I, the 3rd Hanover Infantry Regiment was first deployed on the Western Front in France. In 1915, a flight to the Eastern Front followed, and then again return transport to France. In 1916 and 1917, the regiment again cruised east and back to France. On the Western Front, she participated in the Battle of Flanders, in Champagne, in Artois and in defensive battles between the Meuse and Beaumont. The regiment was demobilized in Hildesheim from December 3, 1918 and finally disbanded in September 1919.
