Commemorative coins of the former royal Hanoverian troops were minted on December 19, 1903 by the king and emperor William II. donated. The reason for this was the 100th anniversary of the regiments. A total of 9 medals were awarded. On the same front side of the medal are different views from behind with the corresponding anniversary dates of military units. Medals at the regiment's anniversary celebration were awarded only to present soldiers or undeservedly absent soldiers. A commemorative commemorative coin with the date - March 26, 1813 - March 26, 1913 - was awarded to the soldiers of the 2nd Hanover Infantry Regiment No. 77,. The regiment is also known by the name "Heather Regiment."
Infantry Regiment No. 77 was assembled from different companies in Dresden in 1866. It included the 13th - 15th companies of the 52nd regiment, the 7th, 13th and 15th. Regiment Company 12, Regiment No. 8's 13th to 15th Companies, and the 10th, 13th, and 14th. Company of Regiment No. 48. Since 1899, by the Highest Cabinet Order, the regiment was considered one with the former 5th Hanover Infantry Regiment. The founding date was March 26, 1813. In 1866 it was Wesel, in 1871 it was Celle, and in 1873 it was Oldenburg and Hanover.
Assigned to the 1870/71 War, the regiment was XIV. Infantry Division in the VII. Army Corps. In the war of 1870-71, the infantry regiment fought, including at Spichern, Colombi-Nooyi, the battle of Gravelot-St. Private, Noisseville, Colombi and small battles. During World War I, the 2nd Hanover Infantry Regiment as part of the 40th Infantry Brigade of the 20th Infantry Division was first deployed on the Western Front in France. In 1915, a flight to the Eastern Front followed, and then again return transport to France. In 1916 and 1917, the regiment again cruised east and back to France. On the Western Front, she participated in the Battle of Flanders, in Champagne, in Artois and in defensive battles between the Meuse and Beaumont.
