Order of the Red Eagle 4. The class with a purple eagle in the medallion was assigned only between 1848 and 1854. This form is the first with an enameled medallion and replaced the 4th grade without an enameled medallion. Starting in 1854, the purple-red color changed to scarlet, and the eagle became more elegant in design. Early crosses range in size from 39 mm to 37.5 mm. Crosses may have solid relief cross bodies and two-part cross bodies. Weight 10.9 to 13.9 On June 12, 1792, King Frederick William II. this order as a royal household order. The Royal Order of the Red Eagle originated from the highest Brandenburg Order of the Red Eagle.
