Military commemorative coins for 1864 were donated by King William I on November 10, 1864. All officers, non-commissioned officers and soldiers who participated in the hostilities and crossed the southern border with Holstein had the right to receive. It also included the Eastern and Northern naval squadrons. The period of participation in the battles was from February 1 to August 2, 1864. This commemorative coin was also donated to the Austrian forces by the Emperor of Austria. This is, however, with the reverse order of the letters on the obverse. At the same time, a military commemorative coin for non-military was established. There are also gilded specimens.
