A commemorative coin of South West Africa was issued on March 19, 1907 by the king and emperor William II. donated.
The commemorative coin was intended to recognize the outstanding achievements, valor, efforts and hardships of German troops in suppressing uprisings in South West Africa. The decisive period was from January 1904 to March 31, 1907. Fighters in bronze and non-fighters in steel were awarded. This medal for fighters was awarded to all officers, soldiers, marine engineers, officials, witnesses and fireworks officers sent to South West Africa or already stationed there at the beginning of the fighting. In addition, other individuals who supported suppression with weapons were awarded, including foreigners, including Boers, and members of voluntary medical care at the time. Field postal officials could also be awarded if they acted in the interests of the troops. In 1908, the circle of persons eligible for admission was expanded to members of the expedition to Kalahari. As a commemorative coin, the participants of the corresponding battle were awarded battle marks.

The round bronze medal (also gilded) on top has a broadening of the edge with a hole for placing a small ring, on it a ribbon ring.
