The Hohenzoller commemorative coin for 1848/49 was established on August 23, 1851 by King Frederick William IV. donated.
This medal, as a one-time award, was not part of the Royal Order of the House of Hohenzollern. The award was presented to officers, non-commissioned officers, soldiers, military doctors and civil servants. The condition for this was at least 14 days of faithful service on the side of the king and for the fighters to participate in battles within the country and abroad from March 1848 to October 1849. However, for non-combatants, the same requirements were valid without participating in battles. The medal was awarded in 1852 with a corresponding certificate of possession. The reason for this was 150. Anniversary of the incorporation of Mörs County into Prussia.
The medal is round in bronze, on top is a grooved soldered eye with a ribbon ring. There are also gilded specimens.
