Awards of Germany - Order of the Red Eagle 3rd class with crown, noose and swords on the ring
The cross of the Order of the Red Eagle shown here in this combination with a crown, noose and swords on the ring is an extremely rare performance. This is due to separate provisions regarding additional attributes. The loop was given to knights of the 3rd class, if before that they owned the 4th class or 10 years occupied the 3rd class and were suitable for promotion to the 2nd class. The loop to Grade 3 corresponds to Grade 2 oak leaves. Swords on the ring were awarded when awarded the highest class for military merit. Here Nimmergut gives 707 awards. The crown, donated only in 1892, was presented on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of his birth. The anniversary of the renewal of the Brandenburg Order of the Red Eagle by King Frederick William II. He established it in the second knightly order of the kingdom. It was a special award and was awarded only in appropriate cases. The crown decoration could continue to be worn if the lent subsequently received a higher class without a crown. 3rd class with a crown or crown by 3rd class was awarded only 445 times. Together with swords on the ring and loop, the possible carriers are significantly reduced. None of them list only 9 awards. Source: J. Nimmergut, Deutsche Orden und Ehrenzeichen bis 1945, vol. II, 1997 .
