German Awards - 1866 Victory Medal in Bronze
After the victorious end of the unification war, or the German war, in which Prussia, Italy and their allies fought against Austria and the allies of the German Union, King William I established the Victory Medal. It was awarded in 3 degrees, gold, silver and bronze to honored military leaders and politicians. The stamp carver was Friedrich Wilhelm Kulrich. The minting figures are 14 pieces in gold, 100 pieces in silver and 150 pieces in bronze. Gold medals were most likely awarded to named gentlemen or politicians. The exact lists of awards are unknown to me.
