This state award medal was established by the Prussian Ministry of Agriculture in 1887. Medals of the silver and bronze stages are known. These overwhelming state awards were established on June 25, 1848 by the highest decree of the Ministry of Agriculture for special services in the field of poultry farming. The first prize medals were issued for horse breeding back in 1790. King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. pursued the goal of modernizing obsolete agriculture and bringing it into line with the new European standard. Created for this purpose back in 1842, the Land Economic Collegium, as the central agricultural body, allowed the creation of central agricultural clubs in the Prussian provinces and the issuance of award medals. The provinces of Saxony and Rhine Prussia received the right to do so even before 1842. The medals were semi-state in nature. Issued by the ministry, on the contrary, were state awards. Among the rural population, State Prize medals had a high reputation and were probably awarded until 1918. Other state prizes were established in 1866 for gardening, in 1887 for dog breeding, and in 1895 for fishing.
Round, non-wearable bronze medal with a raised border.
