Awards of Germany - Order of the Royal House of Hohenzollern Chest Star of Komtur with swords on the ring
The Komtur star depicted here with swords on the ring is one of the rarest classes of the Royal Order of the Hohenzollern House. It was awarded when assigning the highest class of the world to owners who already in the lower class had a sword decoration. In this case, the bearer had a class of knights with swords before becoming a komtur (peace class). The sword class, however, continued to be worn. Swords of all classes were donated in 1864. The provisions acted by analogy with the Order of the Red Eagle. In 1861, the order was expanded by William I. Komtur classes were divided into 2 departments. Komturs received a six-pointed pectoral star that could be worn on the right side. Large komtures received an eight-pointed star, which was worn on the left side. The new class division since 1861 was for the Big Komtur: the Cross of the Big Komtur, the Star of the Big Komtur, the Eagle of the Big Komtur, the Star to the Eagle of the Big Komtur, for the Comtur: the Cross of the Big Komtur, the breast Star of the Comtur, the Eagle of the Big Komtur and the Star to Eagle Big Comtura ture. The Knights were divided into the Knight's Cross and Knight's Eagle. The holder class consisted of a holder cross and a holder eagle. Classes with a star did not give up when awarded other Prussian orders with a star. For example, the star of the Big Comture was worn under the breast star of the Order of the Black Eagle. The Order of the Royal House of Hohenzollern was established on January 16, 1851 by a state treaty of 1849 and accepted into the number of Prussian royal orders. The motto of the order was "From Rock to Sea." Until 1863, there was an order that, after the death of Prince Frederick, ceased to exist as deputy grand master.
