German Awards - Commemorative Badge of the Prussian State Railway 25 years

This award was established on January 27, 1905 by King and Emperor William II. This award, among other things, was to take into account the high importance of the state railway in all state and transport life. It was supposed to be an incentive for the faithful performance of duty. The railway workers of the Prussian State Railway were awarded at the end and without charge 25 and 40 years of service, respectively. The awards were presented by the Minister of Public Works. The calculation took into account wartime. The project was developed personally by the emperor, who made a sketch according to which honorary signs were to be made.
The badge maker was Ioan. Wagner and son in Berlin.

Hollow embossed plug sign made of silver sheet. At the back is a horizontal pin. At the bottom is a nameplate with the manufacturer's designation.

Front side:

• The central royal crown above the winged wheel.
• From below, a laurel wreath is crucially connected to the wings of the wheel from below.
• Between the wheel and the laurel wreath is a rectangular shield with the number 25
