A South West African commemorative coin for non-combatants was issued along with a commemorative coin for wrestlers on 19 March 1907 by Emperor William II. donated. The commemorative coin was intended to recognize the outstanding achievements, valor, efforts and hardships of German troops in suppressing uprisings in South West Africa. The decisive period was from January 1904 to March 31, 1907. Members of the Protection Force who participated in the training, establishment and deployment of the South West African Armed Forces, or during this period provided exceptional and highly recognizable support to the interests of deployed troops, were eligible for commemorative coins. In 1908, the circle of persons eligible for admission was expanded to members of the expedition to Kalahari. The design of the commemorative coin was designed by Emperor Wilhelm II. The stamps were made by Otto Schulz, the first medalist of the Berlin main coin since 1902. The signature is very small and occurs in the cervical section of award items.
