Kyffhauserbund der deutschen Landes-Kriegerverband

The name of the union comes from Mount Kiefhauser, located in Northern Thuringia, and a large monument to Kaiser Wilhelm I. It was built at the initiative of military and soldiers' unions in 1891-1896. The architect was the Berliner Bruno Schmitz.
In 1786, the first union of warriors in Wangerin in Pomerania was founded by former Fusilier Frederick the Great. This figure is listed in the coat of arms of the federation. Military alliances received a decisive rise after the victories of Prussia in 1864, 1866 and the war in 1871.
Küffhauserbund bore this name from 2 May 1900. It included all officially confirmed 27 Landtag formations. The headquarters of the registered association was in Berlin. Representatives of land unions with the right to vote were calculated from the corresponding number of representatives of the country in the Union Council of the German Empire. The total number of representatives eligible to vote was 61. The president of the Kiefhauser Union was the corresponding president of the Prussian Land Warriors Union.
In 1922, Kyffhauserbund and Deutsche Kriegerbund agreed on closer cooperation and cooperation. From 1 January 1922, Kyffhauserbund became known as "Kyffkriegerbund" and Deutsche Kriegerbund as "Deutsche Krieger-Wohlfahrtsgemeinschaft."
Under National Socialism, the Union was equated and in 1934 assigned to the SA reserve, in 1938 it was renamed the National Socialist Reichskriegerbund, and in 1943 it was finally dissolved and the assets of the NSDAP were included.
After World War II, the Union was recreated as Kyffhauserbund e. V. and was engaged in caring for participants in the war or their relatives.
