The cross is an unofficial commemorative sign for former members of the German army until the end of World War I. It was commissioned by many carriers to show their affiliation with a particular section of troops. 3 different commemorative crosses are known: - Faithful to the regiment -, - Faithful to the battalion - and - Faithful to the fleet -. Distribution was through Paul Küst, Berlin. He also made the corresponding braces of the individual regiments, which were attached to the ribbon. 2 variants of the cross are known. They differ in the posterior eagle in the medallion. Once with a crown and once without a crown. On different tapes, in the colors of the regiment or military unit, a horizontal clasp with the designation of the regiment was worn.
