German Awards - Membership Mark 1.Form World War Front-Line Combatant 1914-1918
The participant icon shown here is the first form of the icon. By analogy with a large icon, it also depicts an imperial eagle rich in details with a collant and a chest shield. This leads to speculation that the badge was awarded shortly after the end of World War I and that a link to the empire was desired. When the transition to the 2nd form occurred, it is not entirely clear. The 2nd form depicts in the center a simple eagle with a steel helmet on his chest and crossed swords under it. The participant badge was issued by the World War Front Fighters 1914-1918 Association. The club was founded in Bremen before the 1919 and is one of many soldiers' clubs created during and after the 1st World War. In general, the clubs took care of the honorary memory of fighters in the world war, the support of returning members or widows and orphans of former members. Often a relief fund was set up for burial and care of graves and monuments. I don't know anything about the club. The club also awarded a large badge of honor in the form of an oval badge. It also exists in 2 variants. Differences are also seen in eagle design, as in small needles.
Badges and badges of honor are extremely rare.
