The Red Cross Thuringian Land Men's Association was a branch of the land association, of which, as the name suggests, only men were members. They served mainly as orderlies and in sanitary columns. As a separate industry club, medallions at service awards were adjusted accordingly. The award was established along with the 3rd and 1st steps in 1922 by the Thuringian Red Cross Land Union. The Red Cross Thuringian Land Association was founded after the formation of the Free State of Thuringia on August 12, 1920. The existing 26 land societies merged in 25.01.1921 in Bamberg into the German Red Cross, together with headquarters in Berlin. The Thuringian Land Union established service awards in 3 stages. The 1st level was an oval silver-plated medal, which was awarded after 10 years of well-deserved cooperation. Presented here 2. The tier was a silver-plated cross with white cross sleeves and was awarded after 30 years of service. The 3rd stage is a gilded cross with white cross sleeves and was granted after 40 years. The maker of the award was R. Conrad of Weimar. Other provincial clubs have established similar badges of honor. They also wear numbers on a laurel wreath for years of service (such as the Prussian Land Union). Thuringia and other provincial clubs were limited to distinguish by various bordings of cruciform arms and medallion, silver-plated or gilded.
These crosses were presented by loyal and worthy members by various national Red Cross clubs. Crosses of different national clubs differ in the inscription in the medallion ring. The shape is usually the same.
Silver plaster cross made of bronze with figured cross-shaped sleeves. The cruciform arms are enameled with white and burgundy silver. Rear side with vertical pin with mating hook.
