German Awards - Bavarian Red Cross Land Union Commemorative Signs
The memorial sign was established on June 30, 1924 by the Main Council of the Bavarian Red Cross Land Union. The decision was made on August 15, 1923. Members of the union who earned during the past war in the care of the wounded and charity were awarded. Merits in field and stage service, as well as merits in the homeland were noted. Medals for military merit have black and silver side stripes on a light blue ribbon, for home merit - only silver side stripes. Hollow manufactured medals and massive medals are known. Mass production is made by the manufacturer Hemmerle in Munich.
Oval medal made of gilded bronze with a border. Above is a soldered ordinary eye with a ribbon ring.
Front side:
- Along the edge is a wide back, which is bounded on the outside and inside by a raised line.
- On it in the upper half is the inscription: - BAYER - - - LAND - - - VEREIN -
In - the lower half: - FROM - - - RED - - - CROSS -.
- The two parts in the center left and right are separated by 2 small circles.
- The included diamond-patterned field in the background is shaded by half.
- The image of the Geneva Cross rises on it.
Downside:
- Along the edge is a wide back, which is bounded on the outside and inside by a raised line.
- Ripe without rewriting. The base is finely indented.
In - the surrounded field there is a 4-line font: - For -/- Merit -/- to them - Wars -/- 1914-18 -.
Tape:
