The Württemberg Union of Warriors was founded back in 1870 as a land association. The patron saint was the king. Membership badges were certainly released shortly after creation. The ribbons of national colors attached below are often printed with the name of the regional union. For the 25th anniversary, anniversary shields were installed. These were presented to long-standing members and attached at the bottom to the member badge. Known shields with years of membership 25, 40 and 50. The content of the union's life was to cultivate love and loyalty to the fatherland, and to maintain a newfound sense of unity by founding an empire. Members supported each other and helped the families of their fallen comrades. Deceased members were given the final guidance. In public life, clubs were also considered an integral part. The Württemberg Union of Warriors was a member of the German Union of Warriors, founded on April 14, 1873 in Weissenfels. In 1900, the Union of Warriors joined the Käffhauser Union of German Landeskrieger Unions. By this time, the Württemberg Warrior Union had 1,608 clubs with 98,847 members. Like many other warrior unions, the latter retained its typical country independence and loyalty to the king and country. Notable badge makers are Metallwarenfabrik Schwerdt and W.Mayer & F.Wilhelm of Stuttgart.
