Awards of Germany - Commemorative Cross of 1926 from the Domestic Women's Association of the Red Cross
Domestic Women's Association
The German Women's Union for the Care of War Wounded was founded by Queen Augusta of Prussia in 1866.
From this foundation, the first district societies soon arose, which later became the forerunners of the Red Cross women's societies in various regions of the empire. The first associations of this kind in Germany can be called the Domestic Women's Union in Koblenz and the Hamburg Union, which arose between 1866 and 1868.
