German Awards - Prussian War Memorial Cross 2. Class for military aid and care of wounded white medallion
The cross depicted here is the 2nd class of the Prussian Military Memorial Cross of Assistance and Assistance to the Wounded. Crosses with a white middle part in the medallion are called 2. The form is called. The 1st uniform has a red enameled midfield with a white Geneva cross. Crosses were awarded to persons caring for wounded and captured German soldiers during the World War. The second class on the tape could be safely applied for and purchased through association members. So far, no statutes or assignment rules have been defined. Crosses with a white medallion were made by Beco, Börger & Co Berlin. The Prussian Cross in memory of the war for assistance in the war and caring for the wounded was established by the Association of Prussian War Veterans in the German Union of Warriors in 1914/18. Like crosses for fighters, members of the Association who were involved in helping and caring for the wounded should be able to wear a commemorative cross. Various variants of these crosses are known. As a division, the plug cross is considered 1st class. this with white-black enameled cross-shaped sleeves and an oak-leafy wreath between the cross-shaped sleeves. Grade 2 has white enameled cruciform arms and rays between the cruciform arms. Grade 3 has no enameled cruciform arms and occurs with or without crossed swords through the center. All crosses to aid in the war and care for the wounded are very rare. This is especially true for the first and second grades.
Eight-pointed cross made of gilded non-ferrous metal. The cross arms are gold with white inner sides. Between the cross sleeves there are 5 gold, rounded rays. They are located on the side, so that they form a square as a whole. On the front side there is a relief enameled medallion. Between the tops of the upper cruciform shoulder is an agraff of 5 rays and a parallel ear. A small ring with a ribbon ring is mounted in it.
Front side:
- The middle medallion is gold with a wide black enameled font.
- On it there is a gold inscription: - FOR - HELP IN THE WAR - c.- CARE FOR THE WOUNDED -.
- Below it ends with two crossed branches of 5 leaves on the left and right .
- The enclosed field is enameled in white. In the center is a red-gold, enameled Geneva cross.
Downside:
- Smooth and gilded. In the center is a rivet that attaches the medallion.
- On the lower cruciform lever on the left in the letter - Beco - for the manufacturer Börger & Co Berlin.
