This cross was established around 1920 by the unification of the Prussian war veterans into the German Union of Warriors 1914/18 e. V. The design and associated volume suggest that he was awarded for services and fidelity in military assistance and care for the wounded. These crosses tended to be addressed to sponsors or even longtime members who cared about the association and especially the field. Crosses are 2 varieties, differing in the shape of the crosses. There are eight-pointed crosses with rounded ends of the cross (like this one). The crosses were made by Beco, Börger & Co Berlin, which also manufactured crosses to aid in the war and care for the wounded. White pin crosses with the inscription - For merit and loyalty - are not yet known. Only black enameled crosses with swords are known. Crosses with this inscription are very rare.
