The badge of honor presented here was presented by the Lipp Red Cross Land Society to longtime members who had served faithfully for at least 25 years. The Lipp Land Union was founded only on November 9, 1907. If the basis was only membership in the land union, then the fund could be created after 1932. However, it is more likely to offset previous activities in voluntary care or medical convoys. In 1895/96, the Domestic Women's Union began voluntary nursing. In 1897, a military sanitary column was created. In addition to this cross, for 10 years of well-deserved activity, the cross was also established. This one is silver-plated without enameled cross-arms. The badge of honor for 40 years is not known. Crosses for Lippe were made exclusively by Godet in Berlin. The design is equal to many crosses from other land clubs, which also established honorary badges for many years of service. The honorary badges of the Red Cross Land Union in Lippe are very rare and accordingly expensive. Source: Manfred Schemeit, Badge of Honor of the German Red Cross 1866-present, 1989.
