On March 22, 1922, the badges of honor of the Württemberg Land Union of the Red Cross were established for worthy activities in medical columns. Crosses were awarded in 3 stages over 40 years, 25 years and 10 years of activity. The badge of honor for 40 years is a cross made of white enamel, gilded in all parts. The cross depicted here has also been enameled in white for 25 years, but is made in silver. The cross for 10 years of faithful and well-deserved service does not have enameled cross emblems and rounded cross emblems. The superimposed round medallions on the obverse are the same in all crosses. The makers of the crosses were Mayer and Wilhelm of Stuttgart. After the National Socialists came to power in 1933 and the subsequent unification of the Red Cross land societies, no more awards were made.
Eight-pointed plug-in cross made of silver-plated white metal. The ends of the crosspiece are slightly beveled towards the center. The inner sides of the crosses are enameled in white. Front side with false, enameled, round medallion. Between the cross sleeves at a short distance from the medallion is a silver laurel wreath. The reverse is smooth silver.
