German Awards - 2nd Marine Brigade "Wilhelmshaven" insignia of Marine Brigade "Erhardt"
The Marine Brigade "Ehrhardt" was formed on 17 February 1919 by Corvette Captain Ehrhardt. It consisted mainly of former marines. The core was composed of naval officers and cadets, who made up the so-called assault company. The Ehrhardt Marine Brigade opposed in various cities from Braunschweig to Munich and Upper Silesia. In the Kappovsky putsch of 1920, Freikorps occupied Berlin. After the coup, the Marine brigade, used as a Reichswehr order force, remained in Berlin.
On April 20, 1920, the Ehrhardt Marine Brigade was officially disbanded.
The Meritorious Unit Citation was awarded to members of the 2nd Wilhelmshaven Marine Brigade who took part in the fighting. At the same time, it was a memorial sign, as the Ehrhardt Marine Brigade was disbanded in 1920 and incorporated into the Reichswehr.
Rectangular sign made of silver-plated non-ferrous metal. The openwork central part is deposited with a black-white-red ribbon. On the back is a horizontal metal strip behind the ribbon and a vertical lapel pin.
