The Wehrsport insignia of the Ehrhardt Marine Brigade was probably established shortly after the creation of Freikorps in 1919. The award was intended for members of the Marine Brigade who performed particularly well in military sporting events or had some success. Nothing is known about the nature of the competition, disciplines, requirements, etc. Competitions are held annually, in 1919 and 1920. The badge is very rare for this reason. All previously appeared guarded icons are identical in size and design. This speaks only of one manufacturer. The manufacturer of the mark could be the First Berlin Mark and the Heinrich Timm flag factory. The latter also produced a Meritorious Unit Commendation for the Ehrhardt Marine Brigade. There is no written confirmation of the presence of a sports sign in the orders.
The Marine Brigade "Ehrhardt" was formed on 17 February 1919 by Corvette Captain Ehrhardt. It consisted mainly of former marines. The core was composed of naval officers and cadets, who made up the so-called assault company. The Ehrhardt Marine Brigade opposed in various cities from Braunschweig to Munich and Upper Silesia. In the Kappovsky putsch of 1920, Freikorps occupied Berlin. After the coup, the Marine brigade, used as a Reichswehr order force, remained in Berlin.
On April 20, 1920, the Ehrhardt Marine Brigade was officially disbanded.
