The badge was donated by the commander of the 3rd battalion of the border guard, Captain Just. The border guard battalion was created in January 1919 at the request of the German population of the city of Znin in the administrative district of Bromberg. Bromberg was a Prussian county and administrative district in the province of Posen in West Prussia until 1920. Since 1871, Bromberg was part of the German Empire. On December 27, 1918, the Greater Poland Uprising reached the Poznan province. Most of the population of German origin was afraid of capture by Polish troops. The area remained under German control. Under the Treaty of Versailles, the territories were to be ceded to Poland. The town of Bromberg was ceded to Poland on 19 January 1920.
Formed by Captain Juste, the 3rd Border Guard Battalion Bromberg took over the policing of the area. The adjutant was Lieutenant Stefan. Unfortunately, little is known about operations, background and troop levels. It is known that the border battalion 3 Bromberg later 83 III battalion of shooters.
There are 2 different variants of this sign on the market. Shown here with a thin needle and directly fired needle, as well as hooks and a needle system on a specially applied metal web. Variants are debated controversially, with the jumper variant often cited as a later production. Differences are found in the embossing of, for example, the eagle and the shield below it.
