The sleeve sign shown here is attributed to the militia of Landshut residents founded in 1919. It was also carried by the 4th Company and the Lembert Battery/1st Battalion, Freikorps Oberland. Whether Lempert's 4th Company and Battery are recruited from the local Landshut militia is anyone's guess. Information about this on my part is not known. I would appreciate further information. The leader of Landshut's militia in 1920 was Vrba. In October 1919, the Lower Bavarian militias united in a district association on the initiative of the head of the land of the Bavarian militias Georg Escherich. At the head of it was the head of the country Escherich and his deputy chancellor; however, the actual organizational leadership work lay with former officer Hermann Kreibel. After the dissolution, members of the Oberland Freikorps rejoined the militias. The badge is very rare. Symbolism - the coat of arms of the Weienstephan monastery. The wing symbolizes the Archangel Michael, and the roses symbolize the Counts of Moosburg. Sources: Peter Schuster, Oberlander/Bichlmeier and Hartung, German Volunteer Corps 1918-1923.
