This badge of honor was established by the Bavarian State Fire Union on September 27, 1924. This award went to firefighters who have faithfully served in joyful and professional firefighters for 50 years and deserve to be involved in firefighting. A prerequisite for this award was the already acquired fire badge of honor for 25 and 40 years. The circulation is about 5039 pieces. The crosses have silver punch 900 and 935 respectively.
Elongated cross made of silver with a wide stepped border. The inside of the cruciform sleeves on the front side is enameled blue. Front and back with a round central shield worn. Between the sleeves of the circle is a gilded radial wreath. A curved, gilded, flat crown is attached to the upper cross. It has a wide eye with a ribbon ring.
