The Saxon Military Union (S.M.V.B.) was founded in 1873. Since 1892, it was allowed to bear the name Royal Saxon Military Union. At the time, KSMVB consisted of approximately 1,200 clubs with approximately 137,000 members. Already in 1893, the silver badge of honor "Starost" was introduced for 25 years. This award was received by the leaders or board members of individual clubs after 25 years of well-deserved activity at the club. The first honorary signs were silver and stood on the ribbon: K.S.Militär-Verein-Band. At the Federal Assembly in 1925, it was decided to create a new honorary sign "Elder." This plug-in cross was now gilded with green enameled cross sleeves. The first form until 1929 had a large overhead central shield in the form of a club sign Z.M.V.B. Since 1929, the form depicted here has been awarded. The service life was set at 20 years. The 2nd form had an oval central shield with a club badge on it. Options with and without tape are known.
Gold plated non-ferrous plaster cross. Cruciform hands are sheathed in gold and enameled in green. On the front side is a raised oval central shield. Back side with vertical icon and manufacturer designation.
