The unions of veterans and warriors of the free and Hanseatic city of Lübeck and its environs merged in 1894 into the Lübeck land association. This badge of honour was awarded to members who had been members of the association for 25 years. Thus, the fund is accepted around 1919. The Lübeck Land Union established in addition to this sign 2 more honorary signs. 1st Class Meritorious Service Cross in the form of a fork cross with oak leaves (3 leaves) on the upper cross shoulder and 2nd Class Meritorious Service Cross on the ribbon. The crosses are the same in design. Cross in the form of an Iron Cross with a wide oak-leafy wreath between the cross sleeves. On the front side there is a relief white-red enameled sign, like this badge. The reverse has an embossed round central shield with the inscription - "For Merit to the Union of Warriors" ("Für Erdienst im Kriegerverein Wesen") (design like the Prussian LKV). Due to the size of Lübeck's army, badges are very rare. The Union of Warriors of the Earth consisted at the founding of the Kiefhauser Union of only 16 clubs with 2815 members. It is comparable in size to the younger line of Reuss or Schaumburg-Lippe.
The pointed order shield, crowned with a silver imperial crown under the 25th ribbon, is burgundy silver on the front side, and red enameled on the diagonal. The back is smooth silvery with a perpendicular pin. Below is the name of the manufacturer.
