German Awards - Commemorative Medal of the German Atlantic Expedition 1925-1927 "Meteor Medal"

The Meteor Medal was established as a commemorative medal of the German Atlantic Meteor Expedition by the Extraordinary Community of German Science in 1927. The expedition took place from 1925 to 1927. More information about the expedition can be found on the Internet. As part of the solemn event, each member of the expedition and the entire crew of the Meteor ship was awarded a commemorative medal. The design of the medal was developed by sculptor and medalist Theodore George, who created it in 1928. Medals were minted by the Main Bavarian Mint. The firm of the Hemmerle brothers from Munich made the Agraffe, and then collected the medal. The studies were supplied by Zehe & Schellen. The medal must be with a silver agraph or with a silver gilded agraph. So far, I know only medals with a gilded agrarian. Of the unconvincingly confirmed sources, 188 silver and only 23 medals with a gilded agraph were awarded. Against division by 1st and 2nd. The class, as well as the award figures, suggest that so far only medals with a gilded agraph have been offered, but not silver.
