German Awards - 1936 German Olympic Memorial Medal

This medal was established in addition to the Meritorious Service to the 1936 Olympic Games by Adolf Hitler on July 31, 1936. The previously established honorary badge "Olympia" was awarded in 2 classes. 1st class as a neck cross and 2nd class on a ribbon. The medal was awarded to those who did not meet the strict requirements for receiving the Olympic Badge of Honor, but, nevertheless, adequately participated in the preparation and conduct of the 1936 Olympic Games. However, care should be taken to ensure that work significantly exceeds normal workload, whether employees were involved on a voluntary basis, on duty or on contract. The proposals were made by the Imperial Home Secretary, Dr Frick. The presentation was attended by a document with Hitler's facsimile signature. Wehrmacht servicemen were required to serve. The German Olympic Medal of Remembrance has been awarded about 55,000 times in total.
Medals are made in matte and shiny silver. The medals were made of various materials and silver plated. There are medals made of bronze, copper, white metal, zinc, as well as iron.

Behind it is a corner tower with a pedestal on which 5 Olympic rings rest.
