Awards of Germany - German Union of Hunters e. V. Cross of Honour for Loyalty to Hunters 1. That is sick
The 1st class honorary cross "For Loyalty to Hunters" depicted here was the club's highest award and is extremely rare. Ninmergut reports only 20 awards. It can be assumed that only specially honored members, board members and honorary members were awarded the cross.
Deutsche Jägerbund e. V. was founded in 1922 as the governing body of various military and veteran associations of military hunters. The president was a retired lieutenant general. Count Fink von Finkenstein. These societies existed long before the First World War and were based, as a rule, in garrison cities. Well-known societies are, for example, Bückeburger Jäger, Marburger Jäger, etc. The German Union of Hunters established several honorary badges. The Cross of Honor was established in the 2nd grade. In addition to two honorary crosses, medals of honor in gold and silver were also awarded. The confederation held federal Wehrmacht shooting championships until 1938. The winner received an oval green enameled winner sign. The Confederation also released the Green Book of Honor (Arthur Rebane). I do not know anything about the terms of the award. Presumably, honorary crosses were awarded for services to the federation. Federal documents burned down in 1944. The only known manufacturer was Karl Pullath of Schrobenhausen.
