The Prussian Military Union established the Cross of Honor for its members on August 16, 1921 in 2 classes. The award was to be submitted by separate unions of warriors to the land board. 1st class was awarded for (especially) outstanding services to the Union of Warriors of the Prussian Union of Lands and Warriors. The previous possession of the honorary cross of the 2nd class was a prerequisite for the award of the 1st class. Simultaneous awarding of both classes was not provided. Both classes continued to be worn together. The reason for the award may be a special individual act or many years of faithful duties in PLKV. For the 2nd class, this period was at least 10 years, and for the class shown here - 1 5 years (15 years in total). The exception is persons over 70 years old. The ratio for grade 2 was set at 10% of members. The award was held free of charge from budget funds from August 1, 1925. In case of death, the awards were subject to return, but they could be purchased from the relatives of the victims. For misdemeanors, the cross could be stripped and had to be returned. The cost of spare crosses, as well as probably their purchase by relatives of the dead, for the 1st class was 14 RM, and for the 2nd class - 4 RM.
Previously awarded the Cross of Honor 1. The class, gilded without enamel from August 16, 1921, was replaced by this honorary cross. Persons previously awarded the 1st form of the honorary cross, if desired, could exchange it for a new performance. The exchange involved the tenant paying a difference of 6 RM (Reichsmark). There were no exchange commitments. The loaned were allowed to continue wearing the old version.
A slightly curved plug cross made of gilded non-ferrous metal. Enameled crosses are white. A short distance from the edge is a thin golden line. In the center is a raised round gilded central shield. Back side with perpendicular pin with mating hook. Deepens manufacturer identification.
