The Cross of Merit of the Prussian Land Union of the Red Cross was established or issued on March 27, 1925 by a decision of the board. The Cross of Merit was awarded in 2 classes. The 1st class was a white enameled, gilded plug cross, the lower cross-shaped sleeve of which is elongated. Merit Cross 2. The class was awarded on tape. I don't know anything about the exact rules of awarding. It can be assumed that the 1st class was awarded only for especially outstanding services to the Red Cross in the Prussian Land Union. The 2nd class was then probably granted for special services. The Cross of Merit should not be confused with the badge of honor, established in 1921 in 3 tiers. Distinctive features are an oak-leafy wreath passing behind the side cross sleeves and the inscription in the medallion "Prussian Red Cross." The badges of honor have a laurel wreath entirely on the cross sleeves and the inscription "Prussian Land Union of the Red Cross." The Cross of Merit is significantly less common than the badges of honor. The only manufacturer is Godet, Berlin.
I would appreciate further information.
Silver cross made of bronze with figured cross ends. The cruciform arms are enameled with white and burgundy silver. In front of the patch is a round central shield (17.3 mm). A short distance from the medallion is a silver oak-deciduous wreath (outside 28.8 mm). The latter is superimposed on the upper and lower cruciform shoulders and passes behind the lateral cruciform shoulders. On the upper cruciform shoulder there is a soldered eye with a ribbon ring.
