Awards of Germany - Honorary Cross with Swords Honorary Union of German Participants in the World War
The cross with or without swords was established by the Union of Honorary German Participants in the World War on March 31, 1925. The award was entrusted to the grandmaster's office, which, at the request, decided to award. The Grand Master was a retired Prussian major general. Grunert. The club was founded on December 30, 1924 and was based in Munich. The Constituent Notice states: "The Confederation awards its members, after submitting military documents, at their request, through the Office of the Grand Master, the Cross of Honor of the War with swords for front-line soldiers, without those for stage and auxiliary services." The "Honor of War" cross with swords could be awarded to front-line soldiers of the ended World War and soldiers of phased formations if they were repeatedly subjected to shelling from long-range guns or air raids and, for example, were injured. One wound or illness at home was not enough to receive an honorary cross with swords. As evidence, the documents of the military department should have been attached to the petition, and, if possible, 2 chiefs should have been named as witnesses. For members of military, military and veteran unions, the board of the association provided a guarantee.
In addition, the Confederation had the opportunity to award the cross to prominent figures who earned themselves for the World War.
After the application was approved, the applicant was sent a title deed and an identity card. Having received an identity card, a citizen could receive the Cross of Honor at his own expense. As a contract supplier, Leopold Lerch is located in Munich, on Marienplatz 8. Poor members of the Society could receive the Cross from the Union of Honor free of charge to the extent that the need was determined and the financial resources of the Union allowed.
