This cross was established by the Association of Prussian War Veterans in the German Union of Warriors 1914-1918 e. V. for especially honored participants in the 1st World War. Probably, the possession of the Iron Cross of the 1st class was a prerequisite for the award, as in many other national military units. 3 different variants are known. Shown here, with a wreath without fluttering loops, the 2nd option has 2 fluttering loop ends on the wreath below, and the 3rd option has a golden border with golden swords. (For more details, I would be grateful) Since there were no orders and commemorative awards in the Weimar Republic, numerous military and soldier associations created in memory of the world war established their own awards. Such crosses were instituted by the various warrior unions of the Weimar Republic for their members in their respective colours and arms. Crosses were issued by clubs, but, as a rule, were paid by themselves.
Arched plug-in cross made of silver-plated non-ferrous metal. The cruciform arms are bordered with silver and enameled with black. At the back is a vertical pin.
