Awards of Germany - Honorary Cross of the Braunschweig Land Union of the Red Cross 3rd class

This honorary cross was established by the Braunschweig Land Association of the Red Cross in 1926. This award was established in 3rd grade. Shown here 3. The class was worn on tape. 2nd class, with the same design, is a patterned cross made of silver, 1st class was gilded and worn as a neck cross.
This award was presented to honored and long-standing members of the Union. The number of awards is known only about 100 pieces, so the cross is very rare. A silver cross intricately enameled with curly cross ends. On the upper cruciform shoulder is a soldered transversely standing ear with a small ring and a belt ring. In the center is a large and stepped middle shield.

Front side:

• The cruciform arms are edged on both sides with silver with a wide blue enameled rim.
• The inner sides of the cross sleeves are yellow-glazed with an underlying pattern.
• A large central shield bordered by a silver dot-dash edging.
• Then a blue glass enameled edging with stripes at the base.
• She is wearing an elevated silver medallion. The edge is formed from a silver oak-leafy wreath.
• Each of them is interrupted by a quarter by an ornament.
• Then a narrow silver hoop with the inscription:
• - BRAUNSCHWEIG - LAND CLUB - FROM - RED - CROSS - below one point.
In the
• white enameled central part, a red glass enameled Geneva cross is framed in silver.

Downside:

• Smooth silver with number (award number?) 32.

Tape:

• yellow 30 mm wide with blue side stripes and a blue central strip of 2.5 mm.
