This honorary cross was established by the Braunschweig Land Association of the Red Cross in 1926. This award was established in 3rd grade. Shown here 3. The class was worn on tape. 2nd class, with the same design, is a patterned cross made of silver, 1st class was gilded and worn as a neck cross.
This award was presented to honored and long-standing members of the Union. The number of awards is known only about 100 pieces, so the cross is very rare. A silver cross intricately enameled with curly cross ends. On the upper cruciform shoulder is a soldered transversely standing ear with a small ring and a belt ring. In the center is a large and stepped middle shield.
