The Barbara Cross was probably donated shortly after the founding of the German heavy artillery weapons ring in 1923. It was awarded in two classes. Cross 1 presented here. The class is a bronze plug-in cross. The 2nd class was also bronzed and worn on tape. The ribbon is white with black side stripes and a yellow middle stripe. Nothing is known about the fund and award criteria. The first class cross was undoubtedly awarded for outstanding services in the armament ring of German heavy artillery and around it. Second class - for special merits. Saint Barbara was the patron saint of artillery and the namesake of the cross of honor. In addition, small honorary orders were issued in 2 classes. The 1st class was a gold flame grenade with a gilded oak-leafy wreath, and the 2nd class was a silver oak-leafy wreath. At this, the number 1923 deepens. Not much is known about the rallying of heavy artillery fighters. It was founded in 1923 and was based in Berlin. Its members were soldiers who belonged to the former heavy artillery, which had to be confirmed by military documents. The first chairman was Lieutenant General of Artillery Alfred Ziten (1858-1944). I would appreciate more information! Unlike 2nd grade, 1st grade is extremely rare on the market. There are many fakes from the 2nd class to the detriment of the collector!
Eight-pointed, slightly domed, bronze cross made of copper alloy. Cross arms with raised polished edges. The inner sides of the crosses are finely punctured. In the center is a round medallion. The back is smooth, bronze with a perpendicular pin with a response hook.
