Cross of Honour and Merit 1. The BDU class (Bund Deutscher Unteroffieren) is the highest award given by the Union. It can be assumed that only outstanding services were appreciated or high-ranking members of the Union were awarded the cross. The Confederation has established 2 awards and badges of honor during its existence, respectively. The 2nd grade had black enameled cruciform arms at the front and was worn on a ribbon. The 2nd class was probably granted for special services. The timing of the foundation or foundation of the federation is unknown to me. However, I exclude use as a pure member badge due to rarity. The Union of German Non-Commissioned Officers is one of many associations of active soldiers or non-service reservists who settled in the Weimar Republic at the turn of the century. Until now, I have not been able to learn anything significant about this association/club. Production was handled by Bonner Flagenfabrik, Bonn am Rhein. Other manufacturers are not known. Crosses were awarded in a case. Miniatures are also known. I would appreciate further information. The awarding was to end no later than the end of 1934, since awarding was prohibited under National Socialism.
