The Elector of Bavaria received an increase in territory thanks to the Pressburg Peace of 1805. Like some of Napoleon's other allies, Bavaria was proclaimed a kingdom on 1 January 1806. Kings come from the Wittelsbach line. The capital was Munich. Bavaria joined the German Union in 1866 and fought on the side of Austria against Prussia. This war, as you know, ended in defeat. So signed King Ludwig II. On August 22, 1866, an agreement was signed with Prussia. This treaty effectively consolidated the task of Bavarian independence. In 1871, Bavaria became part of the German Empire with the Prussian emperor. The kingdom continued to exist and could secure many special rights. Among them were their own army, post office, railway and their own diplomatic corps. National colors are blue and white. Bavaria was the second largest kingdom of Germany after Prussia.

• Otto I (1886-1916) Mad Incapacitated
• Louis III. (1913-1918)

After the 1 World War, Louis III became the first king to be overthrown after the November Revolution. After that, Bavaria exists as the still famous Free State.
