German Awards - Fire Department Badge of Honor for 25 years of service in Eisen (Free State of Bavaria)
On July 1, 1920, the Bavarian State Government established a new fire brigade badge of honor in the form of an oval medal to replace the fire brigade badge of honor in the form of a buckle that had not been awarded since 1918. She was awarded for 25 years and for 40 years of faithful and zealous service in a voluntary fire department. For especially outstanding services, this award could also be awarded to employees of the professional or compulsory fire department. From 1920 to 1922, oval medals were made of black cast iron. From 1922 to 1928 they were made of patinated zinc alloy. Medals from 1928 to 1936 were made in Argentan. A notable manufacturer was Jakob Leser of Munich and Karl Pullath of Schrobenhausen. The latter models differ in helmet pattern and font from early samples made of cast iron or zinc. Early ironwork is rare and more expensive.
