The medal of the Military Memorial Sign of 1813, 1814, 1815 for military officials was established as an addition or expansion of the circle of awarded, the Military Memorial Sign for officers and privates, established on December 4, 1814, December 19, 1848 by King Max I Joseph of Bavaria. Military officials who served in the Bavarian wars of liberation of 1814-1815 and participated in the defense of the homeland were awarded. Since 1850, civilian commissars assigned to the army have also been awarded the medal. The medal was made of light bronze, but was often gilded privately. The award is several times less common than a military memorial to officers and enlisted men. The exact number of awards is unknown. However, the supply of 200 medals by Christian Horner, an artificial caster from Munich, to the Main Coin Office of Bavaria is known.
